Not every job or event needs equipment for months. Maybe you’re hosting a backyard wedding for one weekend. Maybe it’s a one-day demolition job, or a small renovation that only needs a waste bin and a porta-potty for a few days. Whatever the project, you shouldn’t have to commit to a long-term rental just to get the right equipment on-site.

That’s exactly what short-term rentals are for. At FenceLine, there’s no minimum rental period—whether you need temporary fencing, toilets, walkways, or bins for a single day or a full weekend, you only pay for what you actually use, and we can have it delivered and set up within 24 to 48 hours.

What’s the Minimum Rental Time?

Short-term rentals are a reality of life in the construction and event management industries. While we offer temporary fencing, portable toilets, walkways, and waste bins for months or even years, we also accommodate events and job sites that require equipment only for a short time.

There is no minimum rental time. Rental durations and servicing schedules can be adjusted to match your project’s timeline, and if you only need to rent equipment for a day, you can still get setup and takedown included.

Weekend and single-day rates are available for all of our products. If you’re unsure whether you’ll need a product for longer, you may also be able to extend your rental, subject to availability.

What to Know About Short-Term Rentals

Temporary Fencing

While you will often see temporary fencing set up on the perimeter of construction or industrial sites for months or even years, temporary fence panels are commonly used for much shorter time periods, too. Whether it’s for smaller residential renovation projects that might only last a weekend or crowd control measures at one-day concerts or festivals, short-term fence rentals are extremely common.

Sizes of Fence Panels Available

Panel SizeBest For
4′Crowd control and guiding pedestrians at events
6′General construction, commercial projects, and perimeter control at events
8′Construction sites needing extra security and equipment protection

What’s Included in a Temporary Fence Rental?

Our temporary fence panels can be configured for any layout and come in a set that includes the panels, bases, and couplers. Add additional security clamps for extra stability and security.

Portable Toilets

If you need to rent a porta-potty for a day or a weekend, we have a variety of options for short-term and multi-day events. Knowing how many portable toilets you need for your event is critical to avoiding long lines and uncomfortable messes. If you suddenly find out you’ll have more attendees than you anticipated, it’s vital that you have enough toilets on site.

Renting a portable toilet costs $85-$125 per weekend or $90-$125 per day.

For short-term events that may not require regular servicing, every unit will be delivered and picked up at the beginning and end of your event or job.

Waste Bins

Even events that last only a couple of hours can generate a lot of waste. Demolition sites can require multiple bins to handle the debris they create, while well-attended events can generate tons of garbage and recycling that need to be hauled away quickly to prevent unsanitary conditions.

A single-room renovation typically requires a 20-yard bin, while a full-home demolition often requires 30- or 40-yard bins.

Types of Waste Bins Available

We offer several different types of waste bins:

  • Lidded roll-off bins that are available in 12, 18, 20, 30 and 40 cubic yard sizes.
  • Uncovered roll-off bins are designed for construction and demolition sites where quick loading and removal are needed.
  • Self-dumping tipping hoppers for sites where frequent waste is generated throughout the day.
  • Garbage totes that can be easily positioned across event sites.

FAQ

How many porta potties do I need for my event?

Use our portable toilet calculator to figure out exactly how many portable toilets you’ll need for your event, but we suggest one portable toilet per 50 people for a four-hour event. Factors such as whether you’ll serve alcohol can also affect how many portable toilets you need.

Can I rent a temporary fence for one day?

Absolutely. Many one-day events require temporary fencing, and short-term construction, demolition, and renovation jobs may also require fencing for safety and security. Whatever the duration of your event, our team can set up your fence panels on your site and then come to collect them when your event or job is done.

What waste size bin do I need for a renovation?

This depends on the specifics of your renovation, but a 20-yard bin is sufficient for many renovations. The team at FenceLine will happily go over your project and provide a recommendation based on how much waste you’re likely to generate.

Does FenceLine service porta-potties during the rental period?

Yes, FenceLine Rentals provides customizable cleaning schedules and will make sure your portable toilets are clean and sanitary throughout the duration of your event.

What happens if a short-term rental runs long and needs to convert to long-term?

If your job or event runs longer than planned, just give us a call, and we can convert your short-term rental into a long-term one (pending availability). For portable toilets, that includes switching to our long-term rate, which covers weekly servicing and supplies. While we can’t guarantee availability without notice, the sooner you let us know your timeline has changed, the better we can ensure your equipment stays on-site without interruption.

What if I need equipment moved mid-rental?

If your site setup changes mid-rental and you need your equipment relocated, just give us a call. Our team will work with you to coordinate the details and get it moved with as little disruption to your project as possible.
